PART 1 – Afghanistan Information Session: Geography, History, Current Events and Services

This session’s content will focus primarily on the geography and history of Afghanistan, as well as Afghan’s experiences in conflict. The session will also look at the services (including education and health care) Afghans may be used to and their expectations around accessing those services in Afghanistan. This session will be participatory and rely heavily on participant engagement through case studies and discussion, therefore we highly encourage participants to come prepared to have their cameras on during the session.

IOM UK Eritrea Information Session

This session’s content will focus primarily on the geography, topography and history of Eritrea. In addition to this, the session will also cover experiences with services that the Eritrean community may face, both within and outside their country of origin. It will also discuss the family and social life of Eritreans, as well as cultural norms, customs, and behaviours. This session will be participatory and rely heavily on participant engagement through case studies and discussion, therefore we highly encourage participants to come prepared to have their cameras on during the session.

IOM UK Kurdish Information Session

This session’s content will cover the geography, history, and society amongst the Kurdish community spread across Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran. The session will discuss experiences that Kurdish communities may face in different conflicts in the different countries where they live. It will also discuss the experiences Kurds may face in displacement within and outside their countries of origin. Finally, this session will focus on the cultural norms and experiences with services that may be common in the Kurdish community across Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran. This session will be participatory and rely heavily on participant engagement through case studies and discussion, therefore we highly encourage participants to come prepared to have their cameras on during the session.

  1. Hi As registration is closed for all sessions, is there any chance you could repeat them (I assume the demand is high) or increase the capacity of the number attending? If not could you record and post the sessions online?
