Public Health England have provided guidance for all staff involved in the support of asylum seekers in all accommodation settings.
This guidance has been updated:
- to reflect changes to self-isolation requirements for contacts of people who have been identified as a suspected or confirmed case of the Omicron variant of coronavirus (COVID-19)
- in line with Plan B rule changes on the use of face coverings in indoor settings and changes to advice on self-isolation for contacts, encouraging daily LFD tests.
Following the UK government’s change in rules for anyone attending certain venues on 15th December, the guidance has altered for customer-facing employees whose workplaces operate Covid-19 status checks.
Employees in venues or events where certification applies are strongly advised to be vaccinated or regularly testing.
The UK government have issued a poster reminding people to wear a face covering when in certain areas, which can be used by organisations to remind the public that they must adhere to this unless they are exempt.
